Latest News online: Microsoft support for older versions of Internet Explorer ends in 2016

By Craig Rundle 04/12/2015

Following the launch of Microsoft’s new web browser Microsoft Edge which coincided with the launch of the Windows 10 platform in November this year, Microsoft has announced that support for older versions of Internet Explorer ends on January 12, 2016.

What does this mean for you?

As of January 12, only the most current version of Internet Explorer (IE11) will continue to receive security updates, compatibility fixes, and technical support on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.

Security updates and technical support will no longer be offered by Microsoft for older versions of Internet Explorer. Regular security updates help protect computers from malicious attacks, so upgrading and staying current is important.
